Hutchesons is a restaurant in Merchant City I’ve been wanting to go to for ages. I’ve heard great things and that the interior of the restaurant is meant to be beautiful. Jamie and I thought that lately we have a lot of things to celebrate moving, 2 years and 7 months together, Jamie going full time at his job and us both passing university with good grades. So we decided to give Hutchesons a go and we were not disappointed. We both had some nibbles to start, tuna steaks  as a main course (heavenly, it melted in your mouth) and tarte aux pomme with cinnamon ice cream for dessert (one of my favourite desserts ever, a good apple pie in any form really). The tuna steaks usually come with chips but I asked for a side salad instead since I’m not a fan of chips really, it was delicious! The waiting staff was absolutely fantastic and I actually had a minor problem with my tuna steak (overcooked) and the staff were really apologetic about it and immediately sorted a new one for me. So it was really no issue at all.

Neither of us could stop admiring the beautiful restaurant and did not want to leave once our meal was over so we headed down to their cocktail bar for a little drink. As soon as I saw raspberry and gin as the ingredients to Clover Club I was sold. It was very refreshing. Jamie chose a whisky cocktail that I had a sip of and it was really tasty as well.

Definitely one of my new favourite places in Glasgow and I am hoping Jamie and I will return sometime soon.
