One of the things I love about getting back after a holiday or mini-break (disregarding the fact that I tend to get post holiday blues) is getting back into routine . Having my normal eating habits and exercising on a regular basis again is fantastic and I love it. I think it’s really important to get right back into it as delaying it will just decrease the likelihood of you going back ever again 😛 I think it is the best feeling to get back into the gym as your body has been resting for a longer period and is now ready to get back into the game. You may also notice how quickly your body adjusts to doing less exercise and it might be a bit of a struggle and a bit frustrating in the beginning. But just as quickly as your body adjusts to less exercise, just as quickly it regains its strength when you’ve been exercising for a while. Your body is an amazing thing and I am so proud and happy of how I’ve managed to build such a strong body these past two years. My legs can leg press over a 100 kg. I could never have imagined doing that over two years ago! It is all in your head and your body can accomplish so much more than you may think! Just take small steps and all of a sudden you will be looking back and realise what an amazing journey you have done.
Since it has been roasting in Glasgow I have been bringing in salads into work since I got back as I find it very nice to eat when its warm. I’ve been throwing in artichoke hearts, hummus, spinach, red peppers, tomato, sunflower seeds, cucumber and carrot with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Delicious! You can get very creative with salads and I love that. You can even add some nice juicy strawberries or melon to add a bit of sweetness to it now when they’re in season.
