The Nice life

Hello everyone!

Liking the lovely photos Jamie took of me this morning? :p

Life is amazing down here on the riviera. Jamie and I have been spending time on the beach. Eating amazing food and enjoying the sun. We’ve been cycling (having cycling races) into Central Nice in the evenings and strolling around the streets of the old town.

I might’ve had a few too many croissant and baguettes haha. I haven’t been here for three years so I’m making up for lost time. They are just so good which is why only ever have them here.

I’ll be posting more photos from my birthday soon. We had one of the most delicious meals ever!

Tomorrow we’re hoping to go to Monaco for the day. Jamie’s never been and since it’s so close I think it’s definitely a must!

Now I’m going to get back to my book here in the sun. I’ve just finished The Understudy by the same author as One Day (really can’t remember his name right now) and started reading P.S. I Love You. I love the film but have not had the chance to read the book yet so I’m really excited!

It’s my birthday!

Hello my dears!

So today is the day, I’m now 23. Where did the time go? Jamie and I started off my birthday with an amazing walk along Promenades des Anglaise. It was amazing stretching my legs and I was so happy to show Jamie a bit more of Nice.

We then enjoyed an delicious french breakfast at the flat and now we’re on the beach for the rest of the day. Later on we’ll be heading into Central Nice to stroll about. We have a table booked at Bistrot D’Antoine in Vieux Nice that my parents have been raving about so I’m looking forward to having a nice birthday meal there 🙂

I’ll update you with more photos later on!

Speak to you later xx

Pure happiness

Hello everyone!

I’m right now sitting on the balcony in Nice, absorbing every single sunray. It’swhen I go further south I feel alive. I get an amazing feeling inside and realise that it is pure happiness. My soul will always crave the sun. It’s where I need to live one day.

The trip here went well. Jamie never went to bed after work the poor guy. There was really no point for him for him to even try. I was up at 2.30 am and had about three hours of sleep. Was planning on going to bed earlier but cleaning and packing takes its time.

Jamie surprised me by letting me open two birthday gifts a day early when I woke up! He said they were too bulky to take with us. I wasn’t sure whether to wait until we were back or not. Felt a bit like cheating :p He then said the main present I’ll get on my birthday tomorrow and I’ll get two more once we’re back home! He definitely is spoiling me… So I thought why not?

Jamie and I are a bit obsessed with Great British Bake Off. So one of  the presents was one of Mary Berry’s recipe books. He knows I love all kinds of books about food. He said yes it’s not a health one but he would love for us to start baking more and who doesn’t love a bit of cake once in a while? Better to bake it yourself than buying one. Plus there are loads of amazing bread recipes in it. So yes I was very happy!

I’m really looking forward to having a proper look through it once I’m back.

My other present was a thing I’ve been wishing for for so long, a spriraliser!! I was thrilled when I realised what it was!! I cannot wait to start making courgetti meals ❤ There are so many recipes I’ve been wanting to try out. Healthy pasta here I come! Gaaah was sad to leave it behind but that’ll make it a bit easier to come home I guess…

The plan this afternoon is eventually go to the beach. Jamie’s asleep at the moment so we’ll see when that happens. We need to go grocery shopping as well.

I cannot wait to get up in the mornings and go for power walks along the beach. I’m definitely staying more active this holiday than the last, which I’m really looking forward to!

I will speak to you all later. Sunny hugs from me 🙂

Good morning!

Another day,

It has been so busy lately and I’ve barely had a chance to open my laptop after work. The days before going away on holiday are hectic! I’m off to work in a bit but just wanted to say hi to all of you 🙂 After work I shall be entertaining myself with some last minute packing and cleaning.

I have to try and get to bed early as possible today because we have to leave for the airport at 3.30 am tomorrow morning… Edinburgh Airport, explains why it’s so ridiculously early 😛 Poor Jamie won’t be getting any sleep after work but we both know it’ll be worth it when we arrive in the warmth.

I cannot wait to be there!!

These photos are from Sunday, Jamie’s and my delicious brunch we threw together and my sunny  (a rare occurrence this summer) afternoon in the park. Our fridge was empty so I grabbed some baby carrots and hummus on the way. Great snacky food 🙂

Anyway, need to get going now! Blogging will be better in Nice, thank you for being so patient with me everyone ❤
