All about the juice

Is there anything better than a delicious fresh juice? Sometimes I truly doubt it. I have probably been a bit scared after working in juice bar and drinking it everyday. Once in a while I really need my juice fix. More importantly my ginger fix. I really love Joe & the Juice’s juice and their avocado sandwich with mozzarella is absolutely scrumptious, as Mary Berry would say. I think it is such a shame we don’t have one in Glasgow.

When we were in Nice I decided to go a bit crazy and order one with grapefruit in it. I accidentally said it was blood orange on Instagram, which Jamie later on pointed out. My bad… I can’t remember what else was in it but it was delicious! Exactly what I needed at eight in the morning to wake me up. I love tart drinks with dash of sweetness and this juice was just up my street.

Since I was ill at the time we also ordered in a ginger shot for me (although, let’s face it, I would’ve ordered one even if I wasn’t ill). Ginger is a godsend for everything almost I would say. It’s amazing to drink if you have a cold and especially if you have a sore throat. You can really feel a difference after you’ve had a ginger shot. It is also great for preventing colds. I had at least one ginger shot every shift when I worked at Juice Garden and I had never felt better. Ginger is also amazing for your digestive system. I usually drink a shot with pure ginger, some seaweed and lemon (it’s called a Flu Shot) when I order it at  Juice Garden.

Joe & the Juice doesn’t have the same health oriented philosophy as Juice Garden. They are a coffee shop that happens to sell fresh juices as well. So they don’t have all the extra super foods I just had there ginger shot with a bit of apple in it and it was really nice. A lot of people find a me a bit strange for my obsession with ginger and its burning sensation down your throat when you drink it but I love it. That’s how I feel it makes a difference.

So if you’re ever in Nice Airport, you need to make a stop at Joe & the Juice. Yes it’s a bit pricey but I think its definitely worth treating yourself 🙂
