I haven’t done a snack review in a while and I’ve been nibbling on a couple of new things recently that I really want to share with you. I picked up The Pumpkin at Whole Foods a while back and was really excited about it. I love pumpkin pie and it’s flavours but it’s not the best for you perhaps so I was over the moon when I found this. I’ve tried Rude Health’s products before, as you know, but have never tried their bars.
The bar was a great size, perfect to nibble on if the hunger strikes during a long lecture or an afternoon in the office when you need a little pick-me-up. The bar was incredibly moist and tasted very nice and fresh. The pumpkin spice flavours were amazing and it didn’t feel overly sweet like a lot of other bars.
The only two things I didn’t like about it was, first of all, the fact that it doesn’t say anywhere on the bar (or on their website) whether it’s raw or not. Which is incredibly frustrating! So because of this small detail I’m not sure I would buy it again. I would assume it’s raw but I find it really weird that it isn’t on the label because it’s the main thing you see on all other raw snack bars. Do any of you know whether it is raw or not?
Second of all, is that is claims to be a fruit and veg bar. I don’t really think having a pinch of ginger makes it a veg bar and I’m pretty sure you can’t really call pumpkin seeds vegetables either 😛 Maybe I’m being picky and because I study marketing this probably bothers me even more, misleading labels, but I think it’s important having good labels on your products. What do you guys think?
So I’m not sure whether I would recommend it. I loved how it tasted but these two other minor issues makes me very unsure. Maybe you guys just have to taste it and decide for yourselves! 🙂
