I can’ tell you how nice it is to say that I’m now off for two days. I haven’t slept well for lately and work has been hectic so I need to rest and recharge my batteries. I got nine hours sleep last night and I already feel loads better.
Yesterday I finally had my event at Everyday Athlete, we had a pop up shop and yoga event at their gym and I was in charge of organising everything. The event went so well and I was so happy with what I’d accomplished. Once we came back to the showroom again I felt so tired from all the nerves that have been building up for this.
So I don’t think anyone has missed that Deliciously Ella has launched her Energy Balls. They are everywhere! I love how she’s made them easily accessible when you’re on the run in case you need a little boost. I’ve now tried all of them and thought I’d let you know what I think.
I bought the cacao and almond at Whole Foods when Jamie and I were there and it was the first one I tried. To be honest it was probably my least favourite out of the three. It tasted like a slightly nicer version of Nakd’s chocolate bar but that was about it. I would buy it again in the lack of other options though.
The ginger and cashew ball was my second favourite. I love ginger but I wasn’t blown away, it was however nice and refreshing. I loved that the flavour was different from the usual ones you get.
The last one I trued was the hazelnut and raisin ball. I’m not the biggest fan of raisins but this one is my favourite. I love the hints of cinnamon in it, which gives it a slight Christmas flavour. I have to admit I’ve had a couple of these ones over the past weeks. A great healthy snack and treat.
Have you tried any of them? Let me know what you thought about them!
Sorry for the lack of updates this week, it’s been incredibly busy and I feel like I’ve barely left work. Retail during Christmas times you know 😉 It’s been great fun but I’m starting to look forward to Monday when I get a chance to rest a bit and just relax.
Here are some sneaky photos Stella took during our PT session on Tuesday. I was so focused on the workout that I didn’t even notice. I love training there because there are no distractions and in that incredible environment you feel confident enough to push yourself. Since I missed my usual workout session on Monday at G5 because Jamie and I were at Jess Glynne on Monday, Stella let me do parts of the class as my warm up and it was a killer, in a good way. I would probably never be able to train like we do during classes as you need the support from your fellow gym friends and the coach to push that little bit extra.
We practiced my cleans for the rest of our hour together. It felt so much better than snatching, snatches have been really difficult for me to get the hang of. Cleans I figured out fairly quickly, which felt so good! At the end of the session I was cleaning 42 kg. I was so proud to finish the session on a high and can’t wait for next week. I love feeling like I’m progressing and my hour with Stella each week has really helped me with my training.
When I got home Stella had written a really nice Facebook post about my training which made me so happy. Encouraging words go really far!
Now it’s time for me to finish my breakfast and get ready for another day at work. Have an amazing day everyone.
Yesterday both Jamie and I were off together, finally. This hasn’t happened for two weeks so it was great to spend some quality time together. We also had Marla with us and it was fun that Jamie finally got a chance to spend a bit more time with her. I love my days with her and I’m so glad to have a dog in my life again. I think Jamie is too. He’s so cute with her.
I was at Stella’s in the morning doing a PT session (I’ll share more about that in another post) and I love coming back home to a wagging tail. I’ve missed that loads since my dog passed away. After a lazy morning the three of us went out for a long walk in Kelvingrove Park and we had a late lunch at Papercup (surprise), it’s amazing that they’re dog-friendly and the staff in there were so nice to little Marla. She was so well-behaved and went to sleep on the floor while we were eating. We must’ve looked like such a West End couple walking our puppy and brunching haha. Makes me really long for the day Jamie and I will get our own dog.
Once we’d filled our empty bellies we got some grocery shopping done and then headed home. We finished the day with eating Deliciously Ella’s tasty vegan carbonara in front of The Holiday. Yes it’s time for the Christmas films! I couldn’t wait any longer. Jamie had never seen it before and that’s just not right so I had to show him how amazing it is.
I’m just back from another session at Stella’s, lots of cleans, front squats, shoulder to over heads and rowing involved. It was so good, I just love my classes there and all the amazing people.
Now it’s time for a shower and comfy pyjamas, can’t wait to to be in bed!
Hi my dears!
I love sharing my finds with you and thought I would share one of my latest ones online. I’ve been running low on some of my cupboard staples. Usually it’s Holland & Barrett I turn to but I recently stumbled across Nutriseed, an online company who sell nuts, seeds, superfood powders and lots of other amazing things a healthy foodie could want.
What I like about Holland & Barrett is the points system, who doesn’t love getting some vouchers to spend? This is something Nutriseed has taken onboard too and depending on how many you’ve collected you get different kinds of discounts. Another thing I like is that you can choose the amount (grams) you want to order of their products and it comes beautifully packaged in these brown paper bags.
Last week I placed my order and today it finally arrived! I ordered almonds (for almond butter of course), pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and walnuts. It all looked lovely when I opened my box and everything feels like good quality. It’s so convenient having it delivered to your home. I’m now ready to up my porridge topping game! It’s been a bit boring lately without all my seeds, nuts and almond butter. Some other staples in my cupboard for porridge are cashews (I’m obsessed), chia seeds, ground cardamom, a back up organic Oatly, milled flaxseeds and cinnamon to sprinkle on top.
