Sometimes when you’re on the go you need a little pick me up and in New York that was definitely needed when you’re out walking as much as you are. One day my step mum Anki and I decided to walk from the very Southern point of Manhattan, Battery Park, to East 45th Street whilst the rest of the family headed straight to our hotel. They were tired after all the sightseeing whilst we wanted to stay out a bit longer. It took us a bit to get back but we didn’t really notice as we had so much fun chatting and exploring the wonderfulness of New York. It was amazing to spend some alone time with her. Plus I truly believe you experience a city the best by walking. I loved to see how the architecture of Manhattan shifted as we walked through the different parts.

I eat like a horse and of course I got hungry in the midst of all the walking. Luckily New York is packed to the rim with healthy juice and smoothie bars and we were so happy to stumble across this smoothie place Liquiteria on our way to the lululemon flagship store. They have several outlets across the US and claim to be the first place who served cold pressed juice in the country. Everything in there looked amazing and I was really tempted to have one of their smoothie bowls but figured a smoothie was easier to have on the go.

Both Anki and I had the Mean Green which had kale, spinach, mango, bananas and pineapple in it. It was delicious and incredibly refreshing. We got massive cups so it was very filling, usually smoothies don’t tend to fill me up but I managed to stay full for quite a bit. Wished we had a chance to go back so I could try one of their bowls but that will have to wait for another visit.
