Merry Swedish Christmas

God jul as we say in Sweden!

Today is the day we celebrate Christmas back home and it feels weird not being with my family on this day stuffing my face with food with mum’s side of the family. However, I feel so happy on the other hand to spend this special time of the year with my man. It’s something we’ve been wanting for so long so even though it would’ve been amazing to have our families with us too we’re very happy to be together.

This morning I’m going to Laura McCrimmon’s Christmas eve yoga class with lululemon at 29 Club. I was deciding between yoga or Metabolic Mayhem at G5. I would’ve loved to do both but I’ve said for a while that I was going to yoga so yoga it is. After yoga I’m heading home to get ready for Jamie’s and my Christmas eve lunch at Number 16. His parents have so kindly given us a gift voucher to pay for our meal as our present this year which is incredibly kind and generous of them. We absolutely love that place and can’t wait to have some of their incredible food.

After lunch we’ll continue preparing for Christmas day and watch some Christmas films, I can’t wait!

These photos are from our visit to the Edinburgh Christmas Market the other day. It was nice but I wish there would’ve been more smaller businesses and craftsmen who sold their creations, it all felt quite generic and a lot of stalls sold the same things. A bit of a shame but it was nice to have a day out of Glasgow.

Hope you have an amazing day whether you are celebrating Christmas today or just finishing off your preparations. Be safe out in the storm!

Madeleine Moves is a blog celebrating a love of exercise, food, travelling and life. I love being active, exercising and being out and about. With my blog I hope to spread this joy and inspire you to be your best. Who am I? I’m Madeleine (surprise). I’m a Swede who lives in the vibrant city of Glasgow in Scotland. I moved here for my university studies and in summer 2016 I graduated with a degree in Business and Management at University of Glasgow. My keyword has always been balance. I love eating healthy food but I also love to indulge once in a while. You need to enjoy life at the end of the day and limiting yourself is not the way to go. With this I would like to say welcome to Madeleine Moves. Love, Madeleine
