Post Christmas training

I don’t think I’m the only one that’s been letting loose a bit when it comes to food for the last couple of days. The Christmas weekend was just a big eating spree and I wasn’t sure when I’d properly get back to training again. Luckily we’d planned a Boxing day bootcamp in the showroom before I left so that I knew I was already going to. Then on Monday evening Stella posted on Facebook saying she was opening the gym for a bit on Tuesday morning. I didn’t really feel super excited about going for some reason in the morning but Jamie being the encouraging guy he is said that I’d feel so great afterwards and it’s so true I thought so off I went.

Stella had planned a killer workout for us to put some of that extra food to good use and afterwards we were all dead but felt so great to be moving again. It’s crazy what an effect exercise has on my wellbeing and how I feel. Then today we were back on it again in the morning. We had four workouts to pick and choose from and I was happy that I managed to power through three of them. My arms were dead in the end.

I think it’s so important to try and get back into routine of going to the gym and exercising as soon as you can after being on holiday or after the festive period when gyms tend to be closed. It’s easy to use that as an excuse to not move at all (we’ve all been there). If you leave it too long after the gyms are open again it will be even more difficult to go back. I hate the feeling when you’re at the gym and feel like you have to start from scratch because you’ve lost all that strength you built up. It’s way easier to bounce back when you are fitter but frustrating when you know you have done better.

I’ve been taking it a bit easier this week with exercising and moving because of it being the week before Christmas and New Years but I’ll  be back in full blast with my training next week when the gyms are back to normal again. I really want to get back into going to yoga once a week at least. It helps me in so many ways too but I feel like I’ve fallen out of love with it a little bit recently. Definitely on my to-do list in the New Year.

With my blog I hope to spread this joy and inspire you to be your best. Who am I? I’m Madeleine (surprise). I’m a Swede who lives in the vibrant city of Glasgow in Scotland. I moved here for my university studies and in summer 2016 I graduated with a degree in Business and Management at University of Glasgow. My keyword has always been balance. I love eating healthy food but I also love to indulge once in a while. You need to enjoy life at the end of the day and limiting yourself is not the way to go. With this I would like to say welcome to Madeleine Moves. Love, Madeleine
