Back on the PT sessions

Good morning lovelies!

I got up nice and early today to get to Gym G5. Stella and I are finally getting back to our PT sessions. I’ve really missed them. The difference our one hour sessions in combination of going to the classes have made is incredible. My upper body strength barely existed before Stella started coaching me and today I’m so much stronger.

I wish I would’ve gotten a PT earlier in my workout “career” or what I should call it. I was silly and felt intimidated by the thought of someone watching me being a failure and out of shape (my thoughts at the time) but looking back on it the thoughts were ridiculous! They’re their to help you, not judge you. How horrible would it be if they did? It’s funny what you tell yourself. It would’ve benefited me so much having someone coach me but better late than never. It’s really important to find someone you click with and feel comfortable with. I love Stella’s and my chats and she really makes you feel comfortable. Her knowledge and experience is incredible and I try to absorb everything she says to get better.

Today she had me warm up with 21 calories on the airbike (if you haven’t come across this monstrous piece of equipment you won’t understand the pain, whoever came up with it loves causing people pain), 15 wall balls and 9 burpees for three rounds. I haven’t been on the airbike for a while and it killed me. The harder you pedal the more resistance you get but if you don’t pedal hard enough you’ll be on it forever. A vicious circle.

Then we were practicing gymnastic style exercises such as kipping and toes to bar. Something I’ve never fully grasped. After a few pointers from Stella there was a significant difference and we’re hoping in a couples of weeks I’ll be able to get my toes all the way to the bar. Just need to work on that arm strength, my constant work in progress.

We finished off with some snatch progressions and I am still struggling with my speed with the bar. It’s so frustrating but you just have to keep on training technique and eventually you’ll get it. Frustrating at times but true.

I was so hungry after our session so I’ve stuffed my face with my second breakfast of the day. If I would eat porridge before an early session I would have to get up two hours before to let it digest. Depending on how early I’m working out I’ll do that but sometimes it’s just a bit too early and instead I’ll have a small snack and eat properly afterwards (a big bowl of porridge of course!). I could never workout without anything in my body. I would collapse. My go to thing is rice cakes with almond butter and banana. Lots of good energy.

Jamie is off today, yay! I’m not sure what we’re doing but hopefully something nice. I’m just happy to see him. He’s so busy these days. We were spoilt with time together when we both studied! You take it for granted. So we have to make the most of it now.

Have a great day!

Love, M xx
