Review: Heck Supergreens

The other day I really I didn’t feel like cooking. I usually always scrape something together but I just couldn’t be bothered and Jamie was working (so I couldn’t get him to cook).I decided to have a browse in Waitrose and they had started a little a little veggie and vegan section.

These balls from Heck looked tempting and after reading the back it seemed like they had fairly good ingredients for being pre made. Making things yourself from scratch is always preferred but this looked alright. I was curious to see what they were like so I decided to give them a try. The other Thai flavour they had had sugar in them, so make sure to read the label carefully so you know what you’re putting in your body.

They were supposed to take about 15 minutes in the oven but our oven is not the best and I love it when it’s crispy on the outside so I think I had them in for about half an hour. I chopped up a quick salad in the meantime. Super simple and easy.

It looked so promising but I have to say I really didn’t like them. They were so bland and had a weird aftertaste. I would rather have eaten something else or made falafel myself than having these. They were such a disappointment and not worth the money at all. Such a shame but hopefully with the shops bringing in more options like these, there’ll be more tasty options.

Sometimes it’s just so handy to pick up these kind of things after a busy day and throw in the oven without compromising on your health. It’s fun to try these kind of things out and hopefully you’ll avoid having to spend money on things that aren’t worth it.
