A day in the life

Looking slightly creepy with the sun in my eyes (couldn’t really see what I was taking a photo of haha)

Good afternoon my lovelies! If you’re reading this from Glasgow I really hope you got a chance to go out and enjoy the weather for a little bit. The sun has been shining all day today, which has been incredible.

This day started off with a session at the gym. I did rowing intervals to warm up, three 500 metres as fast as possible with 1 minute rest on level 7 (or what you should call it, the adjuster thing on the side with the resistance). My goal for a while has been to get this under 2 minutes. It’s been tough to say the least. When I started it took me about 2.15/2.20 minutes sometimes. Today I got my best time so far, 2.02 minutes. I was so happy with that. My worst time was 2.07 minutes in my last round. So there’s already a considerable difference. Practice makes perfect! I can’t wait to see how much I’ll improve in the next couple of weeks.

I then did lots of legs (lunges, squats and hip thrusters) and I practiced my overhead squats for a little bit too. It was rather quiet in the gym this morning, which was really nice. I feel a bit stressed when it’s mobbed and it feels like people are waiting on you to finish or you have to share racks with people. I don’t mind sharing but I prefer having my own space.

Afterwards I walked back home in the sunny weather and had my proper breakfast (porridge lover forever). I then had a shower and felt like I had to go out and get some sun on my face so I went for a walk in the park and sat down on a bench for a while. It was great seeing so many people out and about. The city really comes to life on sunny days. It’s a shame we don’t get too many of them 😛

Since I got back I’ve had lunch, a tiny portion of what was left of a salmon Thai curry and Jamie made an absolutely incredible veggie Indian curry the other day, which I had some of too. The salmon Thai curry was the first time in ages we’ve cooked fish at home so we probably won’t do it for a while now, as I said I do tend to eat fish when I eat out if the veggie options don’t sound very fun and I do love seafood.

Anyway, I’ve got some things coming up in the near future I need to prepare for so that’s what I’m doing for the rest of the afternoon. This evening I’m meeting up with my girls Emma, Kamila and Marija for a little bit. One of the ladies in the group has gotten engaged since we last saw her so this definitely calls for a celebration. So happy for her and her man. They are incredible people and perfect for each other so I was over the moon when she told me.

Sorry this isn’t a more interesting post! I’m a bit busy at the moment but I promise more fun content is coming. I’m working on it so stay tuned.

Speak soon, M xxx
