Hi lovelies! How are you today? I woke up quite hungry today and had some rye bread with peanut butter and banana before my workout. Usually this is enough and then I have a big breakfast after my session. It means I don’t have to wait hours for my food to digest. This time I completely underestimated how hungry I actually was. I headed to the gym and realised I was starving. So annoying, nothing worse than working out when you’re hungry. I can’t cope at all.
It just shows how important it is to fuel your body to ensure to you have energy to perform during your gym sessions. I was so frustrated, I was there for a bit but left early and went home and stuffed my face. Not the best start to the day but once again I was reminded to listen to my body. You need to take care of it otherwise you won’t see the results you want.
After a quick shower I headed to the Finnieston area to meet up with Faye for a bit. We ended up at Seb & Mili and sat there for ages just chatting. We haven’t seen each other for a while so it was so good to catch up. I’ve felt a bit lonely recently with everyone being so busy and me just job hunting so it was so great to be around a good friend. I’m lucky to have found her.
Afterwards I headed to say hi to Jamie at work, he had sent me a photo of his friend’s dogs who were in and I have been dying to meet them. They’re two French bulldogs and oh my goodness, my heart just melted. So chilled and snuggly. The youngest one Clyde even laughed when you tickled him. I can’t wait for the day Jamie and I can get a dog.
I eventually had to leave because I once again was absolutely starving. I can’t remember the last time I was so hungry. I felt zero energy and that my body was running on an empty tank. The walk home felt like an eternity and luckily I had leftovers in the fridge I could heat up in minutes once I got through the door. Another great reason to always make extra food whenever you’re cooking. The thought of having to cook food when I’m this hungry would kill me haha 😛 It’s good to be prepared.
I really should’ve brought a snack in my bag to be on the safe side but didn’t think I’d be out for so long. Time flew away. I should know better by now. So now I’m sitting here shovelling food in me like there’s no tomorrow.
Not an ideal day eating wise but I just wanted share that sometimes your day can be chaotic and you might not eat when you should. Nobody’s perfect but having backups such as leftovers or snacks in your handbag really saves you in these situations. It’s so easy to go for the easy options and stuff your face with whatever but you can redeem yourself and fuel that engine with healthiness and if you’re hungry, eat! Don’t be scared of eating, eat until your body feels satisfied so you have energy to do what you want to do.
When I’m hungry it’s the only thing I can think about and who wants to go in with your day thinking about hunger and food? Not fun at all. Take care of yourself and make sure you give your body what it needs. Now I’ve refuelled and tomorrow I’m going to make sure this does not happen. Back on track!
Hehe update: After stuffing my face with all the curry leftovers I waited a while to see whether my body actually needed more food. Good to do sometimes because the body needs some time register the food you eat but nope still hungry so I’ve now made a smoothie bowl. Give me all the food!
