Hack for steaming: We don’t own a steamer so we construct one when needed with our stock pot and stainless steel sieve. Heat up water so it’s boiling, pop the veg in the sieve and place the lid on and voila, you’re good to go!

I went for a massage this morning and it was so lovely to have a bit of indulgence on a Monday. I’ve had a voucher lying about for ages and thought it was about time I used it.
The massage was amazing and I could feel that I was really stiff and tense in my body from training a lot so it was definitely needed. It was amazing to relax and just lie there for an hour and do nothing.
At the end I was told that I had some of the stiffest shoulders my massage therapist Natalie had ever felt. It’s not the first time I’ve heard this. Tension in my shoulders is something I’ve struggled with for years and I’m not quite sure when it started. Tension headaches is common for me and training has definitely not helped with putting more strain on my already tense muscles.
I really need to improve this and as soon as I can afford it I’m going to make sure to have a massage more regularly to fix this. Living with tense shoulders is really painful and it’s weird how you almost get used to the soreness and pain.
I do have a massage machine for my neck I got ages ago from my parents so using that more regularly is a start for now.
After the lovely treatment I headed home to get some lunch. I ended up eating a delicious colourful bowl of goodness thrown together. I didn’t have any hummus at home so picked some up on the way back. I know it’s better to make it yourself but sometimes buying some is the easiest option. As long as you don’t do it all the time 🙂 I steamed the broccoli for about ten minutes and sautéed the mushrooms in some avocado oil with Herbes de Provence and a dash of coconut vinegar. Yum!
Right now I’m trying to make my first ever peanut butter. I don’t know how it’s going to turn out but if it’s good, I’ll let you know how I made it. Wish me luck xxx
