Hi loves! As you know by now, I love trying out a new fitness class. For a while I’ve been in touch with Stephen, the guy behind The Fitt Principle. You can find them at Citypark Fitness over in the east end of Glasgow. They’re launching a new class called StrongHer, a female only class on Saturdays at 9am and I was lucky enough to get a space to try it out before it’s fully launched in May.
I had no idea really what to expect from the class when I walked in through the doors of the gym. The gym itself is a nice little space and feels a bit hidden away, not many know of it. There’s lots of equipment to pick and choose from and two studios for classes.
StrongHer is a 45 minute HIIT class with a bit of mindfulness in between the three rounds. Something I’ve never experienced before. It felt really nice with the relaxation bits in between and it gave your body a chance to recover between the rounds in a different way than just standing about. I liked it. Stephen told me he really likes calisthenics, which showed in his class. I haven’t done a proper bodyweight only class for a while and I realised how much I’ve missed it. Whilst I love my weights I do love a proper HIIT session too. I used to do it a lot more when I worked at lululemon and when I went to the Sunday morning bootcamps.
Since it’s a bank holiday weekend the class wasn’t very busy. I was told last weekend there were 15 people there and I can imagine that being a bit of a squeeze! I quite prefer when a class isn’t packed so that was a little bonus too.
I really felt like StrongHer was something a bit different on the fitness scene in Glasgow and I can’t wait to see what more the team behind The Fitt Principle will bring out. I’ve been told there’s a lot of things happening this summer so keep an eye out on their website or Instagram.
Thanks guys for a great session!
