115 burpees in one day

Hi lovelies! Hope you’re having a beautiful day so far. On Monday I was at Everyday Athlete and went to my first Muay Thai class in ages. The trainers in this gym are amazing and the people you meet in the classes are lovely. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous coming into the class because I wasn’t sure I’d remember anything and also you always work in pairs and it’s always a bit of a weird one coming alone and not really knowing anyone. You just hope someone is free who wants to put up with your inabilities haha.

As soon as the class started the nerves went and away. Luckily, as soon as it was time to pair up I immediately found a lovely lady to pair up with. So all of those mini nerves popping up before the class were for nothing. It’s so funny how you worry about these things and then once you’re doing it you’re fine. Before I used to let them stop me but now I know that going to that class is going to make feel a million times better and help me grow more than saying no. I’ve definitely gotten better at getting out of my comfort zone in the past year.

The class was amazing and so warm! The thing with having boxing gloves on too is that it is very difficult to wipe sweat of so I was dripping haha. My basic Muay Thai did come back to me and thanks to my  strength training I did still feel strong even though I haven’t done Muay Thai in ages (however nowhere near as good as everyone else in the class who do this regularly). The class reminded me of why I love it so much. I wish I could do it more. It’s so incredible and inspiring to see everyone with their skills. They’re so amazing! I would love to get some more Muay Thai in my training but I just don’t have enough hours in the day to do all of the things I’d love to do.

We finished off the session with 25 burpees. This sounds alright but I had already been to Stella’s that morning and done 90 burpees during that session. That’s quite a lot of burpees when you add them up! I was just slightly sore the next day…

Now it’s time for me to start with dinner. Jamie is finally back from London tonight. I can’t wait to see him. I have to go out and film some stuff for voomfit this evening and won’t be home until Jamie’s back so I thought I would have dinner ready before I leave so we don’t have to worry about cooking when I get back. Trying to be a good “housewife”.

Speak soon,

M xxx
