Time for a workout led by my friend Scott from SD Movement
Always with my Faye next to me!
This is how happy exercise makes me haha
Looking slightly creepy in the background, like I’m plotting how to take over the world… Maybe I am…
The stunning Drugstore Social
The vegan option was tasty
Food makes me happy too
Last Friday I was invited by the lovely girls at lululemon Glasgow to their event #Glasgowliveswell together at Drugstore Social. The event was a celebration of health and happiness. People from all kinds of areas within the Glaswegian fitness community came along, from yoga teachers, masseuses and life coaches to personal trainers and random fitness enthusiasts like myself who just spend our life in lycra. I felt so extremely privileged and grateful to be invited to such an event alongside these incredible and inspiring people. Difficult to believe!
As soon as I walked through the doors of Drugstore I was met by the site of a crowd of people in gym gear. Good to know I’d come to the right place haha. We turned a lot of heads amongst the other guests in the restaurants to say the least. We immediately got handed a menu of three options for food, veggie, vegan and pescatarian dishes to tuck into after the workout we were about to head out for. I went for the vegan option, it sounds really tasty. I love butternut squash so once I’d seen that I was sold.
Once everyone had arrived we headed outside where we were told a bit more about the event by Nicola from lululemon Glasgow and James from Kained Holdings who own Drugstore Social told us about the Drugstore and the ethos behind it. They’re all about the locally sourced and foraged produce, which I love! They even have their own professional forager (what a job!) who goes out into the Scottish wilderness to find weird and wonderful things to create dishes out of. I definitely think it’s essential at this day and age for restaurants to embrace what’s available near them.
Then it was time for Scott’s workout. I’ve been very fortunate to have the chance to try out Scott’s classes before and know his classes are very unique. He is extremely passionate about movement and how small alterations in the standard exercises can change them entirely and work different muscle groups. It’s incredibly interesting and unlike any other training I’ve ever tried before. We headed down to an area outside of the Kelvingrove Museum and Scott took us through his session. As you could probably tell from the pictures above, it was great fun! Lots of tweaking of movements to help our bodies loosen up and improve our mobility as well strengthen our muscles.
When the class ended it was time to head back to Drugstore Social for our food. It was so lovely to talk to everyone else at the event whilst munching away. A perfect way to end a really fun afternoon.
Thank you lululemon Glasgow and Drugstore Social for a great event!
