Hello my hearts (hej min hjärtan as we say in Swedish)! Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it in English as in Swedish haha. Here are some more pictures from France. We went beach hopping as part of our trip and it was a great way to see other parts of the French Riviera but also get some beach time in because what is a holiday without spending most of it on the beach? It was perfect. Even though Villefranche is right next to Nice I’d never been before. It was supposed to be beautiful so we packed up our stuff and hopped on the train. You can walk there if you really want to from Nice but since we were bringing beach stuff with us we figured it was easier to go by train.
Villfranche is very cosy with beautiful small streets and colourful houses. It was surprisingly quiet. I thought there would be loads of tourists. There were loads of British people there but it still felt very authentically French and definitely not crowded. We had a delicious lunch before heading down to the beach and I had skate for the first time. It had a very distinct texture and was cooked beautifully. I quite liked it.
Villefranche has a very narrow beach and at first weren’t even sure if we would find a space but luckily we did! The water was a beautiful turquoise, I did however struggle with the sliminess of the stones in the water. I get very uncomfortable with standing on things under water (especially if it’s slimey or seaweedy) but I survived. I probably would’ve worn some of those beach shoes you can have under water if we were to go again.
Before heading back to Nice we sat down at the beach bar and had a drink whilst watching the sun go down xxx
