Healthy treat review: Hazelnut Mylk Chocolate // Loving Earth

Hi lovelies! It’s been a little while since I did a review of a healthy treat or snack so here I am with another one. I haven’t really tried anything while I was away in France and I haven’t been buying anything new. So it was about time I ventured into the healthy treat jungle once again.

I don’t know if you guys know who Sarah’s Day is? I mentioned her in my favourite youtubers blog post (click here to get to it) a while back. She’s all into health and fitness and lives the dream life in Sydney. She’s a massive fan of the company Loving Earth and especially their raw vegan chocolate. Her saying such great things about them has really made me want to try some. Unfortunately I hadn’t come across Loving Earth in Glasgow, until very recently. One of my favourite health food shops here in Glasgow, Quality Vitamins and Herbs just off Sauchiehall Street has started stocking Loving Earth! They have a couple of their chocolates and some of their muesli or granola. I can’t remember which of them it is!

I was so excited when I saw they had them and of course had to go in and buy a bar when I was paid last week. There were only two options when I was in, one of them being their Hazelnut Mylk Choclate. I’m definitely more of a dark chocolate fan than milk chocolate but I thought I would give it a try. It’s been lying in my fridge since (I know I’m a weirdo not eating it straight away… I need to be in the right mood) and yesterday I thought it was time. I was baking banana bread for my birthday brunch on Sunday and got a serious craving for something sweet. I then remembered this bar and thought it was time to see what Sarah has been going on about for all this time.

The bar was shaped like a heart! I thought that was really cute but as soon as I saw that I knew it would be difficult to just have a square, because there weren’t any squares haha (lame excuse). The bar itself was super light and the texture was almost fluffy but it wasn’t fluffy as like a marshmallow just very light, which made it super easy to eat. So I ate all of it haha. It was quite milk chocolatey so it wasn’t my favourite flavour ever but it was still good and I really want to try other flavours. For being milk chocolate it was tasty. If you’re worried it would taste very nutty because of the flavour, I didn’t really think it tasted nutty at all, just chocolatey. The thing that really stood out to me was the texture of the bar, it was nice.

A big plus is it’s organic and the packaging is compostable. Quite like our Scottish Almighty Foods. To be honest I think they taste quite similar and if we’re looking to be more environmentally friendly, a bar from Scotland is way better than one from Australia. However, there are loads of flavours from Loving Earth that Alimghty Foods don’t really have that I’d love to try so in that case I would justify having a bar once in a while but this bar I would say some of Almighty Foods bars taste very similar.
