I was slightly excited to try out the new food, if you couldn’t tell…
The foraged mushrooms, yum!
Paper baked plaice
Balsamic beetroot wellington, oh.my.god. So good.
Jamie showing off his best model pose
Cheese board to finish off with some absolutely delicious bread
Happy Friday my dears! You guys all know food is a big part of my life and I love going out for a delicous meal. Who doesn’t? Not only is it a tasty treat but it’s also so nice to not have to worry about cooking and washing up afterwards. So when I was invited to try out Drugstore Social’s new menu, I couldn’t resist. Of course Jamie and I had to go!
I’ve visited Drugstore Social twice before (read about one of them here). I have always enjoyed the food, however, I just thought they had so much more potential. Their ethos is all about living well, celebrating local produce and with a slight more focus on nutritious food. Not that they want to be super healthy but they do take it into account, which I really like. It’s refreshing for a restaurant to take that into account.
We were there last Sunday and it also happened to be during their live jazz night (which I think they have on every Sunday). It was so lovely to listen to the beautiful live music in the background whilst eating. It made the entire atmosphere of Drugstore really nice and chilled. The food was at a new level and everything was delicious. Simple flavours but absolutely delicious. I preferred the small plates whilst I know Jamie really loved the Sea Picnic board. I couldn’t even decide on a favourite amongst the plates we tried because everything was so good in their own way. Drugstore really is a great place for a tasty but a little more relaxed and casual meal.
Thank you for inviting us! It was absolutely lovely xx
