Wheelbarrow walks

Good afternoon! Another sunny Saturday morning today and I decided to go to open gym this morning instead of yoga. Since I missed out on a session on Thursday I was really feeling a visit to the gym.

When I got there one of the girls Julie had a team WOD she wrote up on the board. I hadn’t really planned what I wanted to do so I just joined in WOD. It was a fun one and slightly different. At one point we were doing wheel barrow walks. I can’t remember the last time I did one of those! It definitely gave me flashbacks to PE in school! It was a good laugh. We finished off the workout with a wheelbarrow race, because why not?

The WOD also included pul ups. My kipping pull ups have definitely improved (check out what those are here). I’m on the smallest band and feeling a lot more confident, which is a great feeling. I’m hoping to build up enough strength soon to do a couple without the band. We’ll see how long it takes! Upper body strength takes a lot of time and work to build up… At least for me! I’m seeing so much progress but it’s small steps. That’s why it’s so good to take photos and videos of your journey for those days when you don’t feel like you’ve progressed, then you can look back on old photos and videos to see how far you’ve come.

After the gym I headed back to the flat to get ready for brunch with Jamie. He was meant to get up and have breakfast yesterday with me at the hotel but he was celebrating like crazy the night before and didn’t get to bed until six in the morning…. You can imagine how he was feeling when I woke him up saying it’s time for breakfast. He just wanted to sleep.

He felt really bad and wanted to take me out for brunch today. Incredibly nice of him and of course he redeemed himself. Brunch is the way to my heart. Not that he really needed to redeem himself, it was just a very kind gesture. We went to Singl-end. We’ve actually had a bit of a break from going there since we’ve been busy during the weekends and also been to other brunch places. It was nice to back having my vegan breakfast with all the sweet potato. Can’t get enough of it.

The rest of the afternoon we’ve run errands in town and then Jamie had to go to work. I went with him to the Finnieston area to go to Juniper to get some shampoo and conditioner. It’s a great place for natural skin care, hair care, make up and other natural health products. The guy in there who I unfortunately don’t know the name of is lovely and very helpful. The shampoo I wanted int he end after him helping me was sold out but he’s going to call me once it’s in stock again. I got conditioner and that’s what I really was desperate for.

This evening I’m going over to Kajsa’s for dinner. I’m so excited to see her! I haven’t seen her for weeks. It’s dinner and movie night time! I would say that we’re watching Princes Diaries but I don’t want to get too excited in case we have a technology mishap again.

Speak to you guys soon!
