Gym to clear my mind

Hi lovelies! Wow what an eventful I had yesterday from start to finish! I had signed up for open gym during Stella’s Strong Mum’s session in the morning so I showed thinking I was just going to my own thing and try and tick off some seedings for Rainhill. Stella had other plans, all of a sudden I heard my name being called out by her and that I was doing a WOD with her, KJ and Ellis. Not what I was prepared for at all and usually when you have your name called out like that by Ms Bartram, you know it’s going to be intense!

So we set up our bars in the sunshine and chipped away. I was paired up with KJ who’s an incredibly awesome and strong lady in the gym. She’s insanely strong and fast. Her going at her speed pushed me a lot and I felt it was what I needed. Seeing women like her in the gym is so inspiring and I hope to one day be as strong as them. They show that it’s not impossible when it sometimes feels like it.

On the final row my legs were on fire after the assault bike and burpees but you just had to push through those feelings and keep on going. We finished off with clean and jerks.

This is one of the reasons I love G5, you walk in not expecting much, just to do your own thing and then all of a sudden you’re thrown into a WOD. You rarely train alone, everything is more fun together. Before I used to love going to the gym alone. I still do once in a while, but sharing the pain and the joy, that’s even more amazing and what you get addicted to. That’s why I keep on going.
