Just jump

Hi babes! I’m sorry today’s blog post is up a bit later than usual! I had some very important things that needed done but now it’s hopefully sorted. It’s been a very busy day and started early this morning at G5. It wasn’t the easiest thing getting up when the alarm went off as I was up quite late last night speaking to my family on Skype and got a bit carried away. The time flies by whenever I speak to them. I miss them loads and the closer I get to going home to Sweden for Christmas the more I realise how much I’ve been missing them. I’ve warned my youngest sister Sarah it’ll be a massive hug fest when I see her. It’s tough being away from her and the rest of my family but it’s something you get used to after living away for so long. We try to speak as much as we can on Facebook and call on Skype when possible.

So, yesterday I slightly randomly ended up on the radio. If someone would’ve told me last week I’d be on BBC radio I would’ve said they were a bit crazy. My friend Frankie works for them and they needed someone to come in to talk about the results of a recent study of why women take so long to get ready for work everyday. Old Maddie would’ve been terrified and contemplate not doing it, this time around I thought, what have I got to loose? It would be an experience being on the radio and seeing what that’s like. I’ve started taking the more “just jump” approach instead of overthinking things. I’m an overthinker by nature, I over analyse everything as well. I’m glad it was a last minute thing as I didn’t really have time to get that nervous.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I arrived. Once I got there I got picked up in the reception and sat outside the studio to wait for someone from the production team to get me. I thought they would maybe chat me through what was happening but I just was asked by a girl to follow her straight into the studio. She showed me to my chair and then I was asked to put headphones on. Thrown in the deep end. It felt so odd sitting there watching the lady present the news and the guy speaking about the latest in sports. Eventually it was my time to speak and I felt nervous but less so than I thought I would be. It was a really fun chat and I really enjoyed my time in the studio. It went by at lightning speed and before I knew it I was dropped off at the reception again. If you want to hear what we spoke about you find it here. Skip forward to about 2 hours and 7 minutes into the programme.

Now it’s time for me to stop typing here and hang out with my sis Ellie who’s here to sleep over! I’m so happy to have her here to stay the night and tomorrow she’s going with me to yoga with my friend Kyle who’s teaching lululemon’s Saturday morning yoga at the Corinthian tomorrow (a Casino here Glasgow). I think that’ll be cool! Kyle’s an amazing yoga teacher and can’t wait for his class tomorrow.

Speak soon,

M xxx
