Sweden for Christmas

Hello my lovelies! After some delays with taking off from Edinburgh yesterday I arrived in Sweden around six. My little sister Sarah who studies drama had a Christmas show on at school at 7pm, which I really wanted to make, it was a race against time with my big fat suitcase but I made it to her school just before they opened the doors to their assembly hall. She did brilliantly and I was so proud of her. She looks like she’s in her zone when she’s on stage, no sign of being nervous or holding back. I feel like it’s where she can be a hundred percent herself, just how I feel when I’m in the gym. I love how’s she’s found her place at a much younger age. For a long time I didn’t have one and now having found it I’m so happy to see she’s already there. I think it’s important to find a place where you feel happy and comfortable, especially when you’re a teenager.

I have caught a cold unfortunately and perhaps shouldn’t have gone to the gym yesterday morning but seeing as it was my last class I just really wanted to do it. Perhaps not the healthiest choice but I’m happy that I did it. So yesterday evening when I went to bed I didn’t set my alarm for the first time in probably a year. I always set my alarm, even when I’m on holiday usually because I like to get up and get my day started. I don’t like sleeping my days away. Usually I’m up early anyway so it doesn’t really make much of difference. I am a bit of control freak when it comes to my sleep and don’t like to over do it. I know it’s weird.

Last night however I decided to not set my alarm and slept for about ten hours! I think I needed it and felt a lot better for doing it. No exercise today, instead I’m resting to hope to get this cold in check. I need to sort out some final Christmas presents and then we’re preparing for Christmas for the rest of the day. We need to bake and cook. I’d love to make a raw vegan treat of some sort and I also want to make a nut roast! Lots to do but I’m so happy to be here. The sun is shining in our beautiful Stockholm and I’m hoping we might get some snow for Christmas but I know that’s probably a lot to ask.

Love, M xxx

Madeleine Moves is a blog celebrating a love of exercise, food, travelling and life. I love being active, exercising and being out and about. With my blog I hope to spread this joy and inspire you to be your best. Who am I? I’m Madeleine (surprise). I’m a Swede who lives in the vibrant city of Glasgow in Scotland. I moved here for my university studies and in summer 2016 I graduated with a degree in Business and Management at University of Glasgow. My keyword has always been balance. I love eating healthy food but I also love to indulge once in a while. You need to enjoy life at the end of the day and limiting yourself is not the way to go. With this I would like to say welcome to Madeleine Moves. Love, Madeleine
