Hey lovelies! Gaaah it’s the day before Christmas for us in Sweden. Tomorrow it’s time to enjoy delicious food, lovely company and chill. Jamie’s mum Lea is worth us already. Jamie and Luke are on their way and Ellie will be arriving very soon.
I wanted to share some pictures from our G5 Christmas night out at Singl-end last Sunday. I absolutely adore spending time with everyone outside of the gym and wish we would be able to do it even more. It feels like a big family meal because we wall know each other so well. We arrived there relatively early and waited for everyone else to show up. Slowly Singl-end filled up with glammed up gym crew members. Everyone looked amazing.
When Stella showed up she sorted the seating plan and we all sat down! I couldn’t wait to eat. I was starving at this point and couldn’t wait to tuck into some delicious Singl-end food. We were at Singl-end last year and it was wonderful. It was a buffet style affair this year with lots of tasty meat, fish and veggie options. They had veggie meatballs in a tomato sauce which was very nice and a delicious brussel sprout salad. I ate so much food I barely left room for dessert but when they came out with the mini cakes I knew I needed to have some of those too.
Then it was time for the annual G5 awards handed out by Stella herself. I didn’t really have any high expectations of winning anything and was just excited to hear who she’d chosen. We went through a few categories ranging from “Transformation of the Year” to 2017’s “Best Intention” and “Engineer of the Year” (for helping out with maintenance of the gym). Then all of a sudden it was time for “Most Improved” or the “Growth Award”. I was sitting there and all of a sudden my name was called out! What??? I did not expect that and everyone turned around and starting clapping at me. I was in shock. Stella said some incredibly kind words. I couldn’t believe it.
I thought about it and when I did I realised, I suppose I have achieved a lot this year. I know I have grown more than I ever thought I could. You sometimes go blind during your journey and whilst you are accomplishing things you sort of forget to acknowledge it and just continue towards the next goal. Therefore, it was incredible to have Stella recognise the hard work I’ve put into my training this year and to say that I’ve come far, when I’m not very good at saying so myself. There are so many incredible people at G5 who are all going through incredible changes and improving in their own ways so to be picked as 2017’s improvement was just amazing and I felt so honoured. I couldn’t have done it without the G5 crew. special shout out to Faye who’s the best training partner in crime I could ask for. We all support each other in our journeys and I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for them.
Thank you so much Stella for my award, I’ll always remember this when I’m grey and old that once upon a time I was quite decent in the gym haha.
Hope you have a lovely day before Christmas and that it isn’t too stressful! I’m so excited for everyone to be here with everyone. I’m looking forward to showing Luke and Lea Stockholm for the first time and for all three of them to experience Swedish Christmas.
Love, M xxx
