Hi! I’m just back from the most amazing start to my day at G5. Oh god, when is she ever not there you guys are probably thinking by now. I suppose it is my second home here in Glasgow. I absolutely love hanging out there. It’s a place to socialise as well as getting your training done, which is why it’s so difficult to stay away!

Today we had a visit from Frazer from the lululemon UK head office down in London in for a class. He’s the Community Connector for the UK (how awesome is that job?! I would love to have a job like that one day!). Not only did he come along but Nicola from the lululemon Glasgow showroom rounded up some of the Glasgow ambassadors to come along as well.

As you guys maybe remember, I used to work for the Glasgow showroom just over a year ago and it was really then I realised how passionate I am about health and fitness. I absolutely loved my job at lululemon and you guys might also remember how sad I was to leave. Therefore, it was amazing to have a little mini reunion at G5 with everyone.

We had a very special WOD that we did this morning in honour of a loss a member at Crossfit Airdrie experienced when he was in the army (if I remember correctly from what Stella explained before the class). The member of Crossfit Airdrie was not only with his partner when he was killed in service but also lost both his legs. He however, amazingly enoughhas represented team GB in the Paralympic Winter Games! An incredible story of survival and getting through extremely difficult times in life. What he has been through is something a lot of us could never relate to. These WODs is soldiers memory’s are quite common within the Crossfit community. They’re referred to as Hero WODs.

Whilst it was a quite sad occasion for a WOD it was still incredible to see everyone getting through the workout in memory of this event. I was paired up with the lovely SJ, she runs the Yoga and Pilates Place in the Southside and it was great to get a chance to speak to her properly and hear how things were going. She doesn’t very often do the kind of training we do at G5 but she absolutely smashed it. She did so well even though that WOD was extremely tough! We had a great time together and laughed our through the pain and sweat.

Once we finished we all went to Gusto for brunch and a catch up. It was great being part of lululemon world for a little while again. Surrounded by such incredibly inspiring and hardworking people. I’m so grateful to know them, they inspire me loads. It’s funny to think that I still might not have exactly found my place and where I’m meant to be work wise yet but when I’m surrounded by these people I feel right at home. Thanks guys for brightening up my day. I really think when I’m older I’ll look back at days like this which so much happiness and appreciation that I got to be a part of it. Thank you.
