Visiting G5

It was Kilo’s second birthday so we sang for him after the WOD and he got salmon for breakfast

Hello lovelies! It was so much fun having Anki and Ellie with me to Metabolic Mayhem yesterday. I had warned them that it can be chilly in the gym and was a bit paranoid that they would be cold sitting still watching the class so I packed my tea flask for them so they could keep warm. They even packed a blanket with them! I couldn’t stop laughing, they’re so funny.

We were a massive class yesterday so it was fun to show Anki and Ellie what G5 is all about with everyone there. I think it’s difficult to understand why you get so attached to a place like a gym until you’ve experienced it for yourself. Usually what you associate a gym too is just a standard commercial one with loads of machines and almost zero interaction with anyone there, whilst at a gym like G5 we can’t stop chatting. It was the first thing Anki said to me before the class started that we were all so chatty!

Then the class started and I had to run off to my team and do the workout. I was a bit worried that Anki and Ellie would maybe find it a bit boring to watch (you just never know) but they said they had a great time and were so impressed and inspired by everyone training so hard. No matter age, shape, size or ability everyone just does their best.

It was so lovely because every time I looked over to Anki and Ellie someone was chatting to them pretty much. Everyone was asking when Ellie was coming in to train with us so I think she might be coming for a trial session soon hopefully. I was just so happy show them both my happy place, where I love to be with people who mean a lot to me. They’ve become my family here in Scotland.

Afterwards we went for a coffee with Faye and Ellis at Riverhill. Nice way to round off a really fun and sweaty morning!

Speaking of sweaty morning, it’s time to get ready for open gym soon. Anki is unfortunately leaving this morning so Jamie and I said goodbye to her last night after our dinner at Mother India Café. We hadn’t been before and it was lovely. They don’t take bookings so there was a bit of a wait but it was worth it, the food was really tasty. I ate far too much, I was so stuffed and my stomach was bloated and sore because it hates when I eat food it’s not used to but it was an incredible meal.

It won’t be long until I see Anki actually because I’m going to Stockholm next weekend for something exciting but quite scary. So it wasn’t very sad saying goodbye this time around knowing I’ll see her in a couple of days.

I’ve had quite a few meals out with Anki being here, which is great but I know can’t wait to eat some home cooked meals for a bit! Right I actually need to stop writing now.

Have a great day, M xxx
