Old Trafford

Ready for a tour of the stadium

Sweden represent!

Hello my dears! On our final day in Manchester we decided to head over to Old Trafford to do a tour of the stadium. Jamie loves football so why not make the most of it and check it out whilst we were in Manchester? We walked there from central Manchester and it took us just under an hour. We got lost for a little bit during our trek due to Google Maps taking us the wrong way, we ended up in the area Old Trafford and not the stadium at first but found the stadium in the end.

I’m not a football fan at all and wasn’t sure what I’d think of the tour but it was actually really interesting. When I was younger I used to at least watch when Sweden played international football games and stuff but I haven’t watched anything the past couple of years.

The group we were in during our tour definitely had some interesting characters. Jamie and I thought we’d ended up in a mad house. However, we still had a great time and our tour guide was amazing and very funny. Some of my favourite bits were seeing the changing rooms (it was quite funny to see the difference between the home team and visiting team’s facilities) and the tunnel which they walk onto pitch from. I also learned about the Munich tragedy, a plane with young promising Manchester United players and killed most of them. Incredibly sad.

Apparently they do weddings at Old Trafford as well and you can get pictures just down by the pitch. I wonder who would be such a big fan they’d want to get married at their team’s stadium. That’s dedication right there!

You could tell Jamie loved it as well. We were both frozen at the end of the tour with it being mainly outside but were so glad we decided to go. It’s was funny getting an Uber back how quickly we got back into town after walking to the stadium for ages. Although, it was nice to stretch our legs since we were going to be on a train for three hours in the evening and you get to see a lot when you’re walking that you wouldn’t otherwise.

Right, I need to get ready to go to the gym! Feeling a bit hesitant to go because it is freezing out there. The other day when we were in the gym my teeth were chattering from the cold before I got warmed up. You would think it would be warming up by now but it seems we’ve still got a long way until spring! At least it’s getting brighter in the mornings. There’s always a silver lining people!

Speak soon, M xxx
