Time to get stretchy

Good morning! Hope you guys have slept well and are excited for Sunday to get started. I had a lovely evening yesterday, first seeing Kajsa at her’s for a cup of tea before going over to Emma’s for dinner. She cooked me a very delicious curry and I stuffed my face because I was STARVING. I did not eat enough yesterday (I just kind of forgot haha) and by the evening my stomach was screaming for food so I felt like I ate everything at Emma’s haha. She even made a lovely fruit platter for dessert and then we ate copious amounts of fruit and nut mix. It was so lovely to sit and chat to her about life and what’s going on. She has been travelling a lot recently as usual so I loved hearing about all her recent adventures. I would love to one day have the opportunity like her to travel more.

It ended up being quite late by the time I got home and yet again I had a night where I first woke up in the middle of the night for no reason and then woke up at six. I don’t understand what’s going on with my sleep but this has been happening for a while now. I never used to have problems sleeping and sort of took it for granted to have a good night’s sleep but now when I keep on waking up and not getting enough of it, it’s really getting to me. I usually, eventually get back into my sleeping pattern but it hasn’t happened. It doesn’t help that I feel stressed when I check the time and realise I need to go back to sleep. I get stressed when I’m not falling asleep when I should and it’s all very counter productive. Any tips are more than welcome.

Anyway, today I’m going to lululemon yoga at Kali Collective. I think Hannah might be going too, afterwards her and I are having a little catch up somewhere. She is for once in Glasgow over a weekend and free! She’s so busy all the time and difficult to pin down so I’m excited to have a proper chat with her.

I’m excited to go to yoga because I’ve been neglecting it for quite a while. I used to go every week and now it’s been a lot less. I feel a bit bad about it because I know I enjoy it and also my body needs it in between all the training I do. It’s very easy to just avoid doing those stretches and working on your mobility but it is very important for your body and to help with your range of movement, which is vital when training, for instance it will help you squat properly, do snatches and perform movements safely. A lot of the time poor mobility can be what’s holding you back from progressing to heavier weights in your lifts because you can’t do the movement correctly. So I’m very excited to get some yoga done this morning and Claire Innes who’s teaching the class is lovely so that’s a big bonus as well!

I would love to get a bit more variation in my training, as much as I love G5 and wouldn’t ever stop with what I do there. I love to do different things and try out different classes. Yoga today is a start to getting back to that a little bit.

Other than spending time with Hannah, Jamie’s working during the day but finishes at five, so we get to have a nice Sunday dinner together.

Looks like it’s going to be a nice day! Speak soon, M xxx
