Hi lovelies! Happy International Women’s Day!! Is that what we should be saying? I never really know because yes we’re celebrating that we’re women and women are amazing but also, isn’t the day here to remind us that we’ve still got a way to go to equality? Therefore it’s perhaps not a “happy” international women’s day but just, it’s international women’s day! Let us celebrate how far we’ve come but also realise that we’ve got a long way to go.

Either way, the sun was shining for all the women here in Glasgow earlier this morning and it was the first time in months I actually felt warmth from the sun rays. It was incredible standing outside waiting for Stella to open the gym this morning and feeling warmth. Crazy to think this time last week we were all snowed in!

Jamie and I ended up having a very nice afternoon yesterday. We headed over to Flip Out to do some trampolining! We’ve been wanting to go for so long and finally we booked in and went. We did in an hour session (you can choose between 1 and 2 hours).

When you get there buy some very luminous green anti-slip socks for when you’re jumping, you then get shown a safety film and then you’re good to go! We were both excited and had been looking forward to it for so long. It’s like my dream as a child, a gigantic building filled with all sorts of trampolines. I wasn’t sure how fun it would actually be but oh my god, I felt like a child again! It was so much fun! I think I was bouncing pretty much non-stop for the full time we were there. The moment you started jumping you just felt so genuinely happy. I loved it. Plus, what a great way to get some movement in! Trampolining is more tiring than you think.

We also tried their ninja warrior course (an obstacle course). Jamie unfortunately hurt his toe at this point quite badly. I was stubborn and tried first the easier course and then tried the harder one. The harder course was tough! I was sweating at this point and I managed more than I thought I would but swinging on monkey bars and stuff with my ripped hands was never going to be a good idea. I get so carried away and forget these things when I’m in the moment. I’m so stubborn too which isn’t the best always. Eventually when my hands were screaming at me to stop I gave up. Silly me…

I think our favourite area was the kind of stunty area where you could jump over boxes and obstacles and stuff. At first it was a bit scary jumping towards these obstacles but after a while you got over the fear and just jumped everywhere, okay not the higher ones, we stuck to the lower boxes and stuff haha.

I felt like I’d found an outlet for all my energy in this place! I was bouncing eveywhere. Poor Jamie with his sore toe had to take breaks in between jumps but did well still. I would love to go back, it was so much fun and great to do whilst the kids are all in school. I can imagine it getting quite chaotic during weekends and evenings with lots of children bouncing around everywhere.

In the evening we went for dinner at our favourite Number 16. Jamie had received a gift voucher from his mum for Christmas for us to go so we decided last night was the night to use it. We haven’t been for ages and were amazed that their lovely staff still remembered us from our previous visits. I love th staff in there, they are the loveliest people. Plus the food is just incredible. I had artichoke and thyme soup to start, then fish for the first time in months as my main and then for dessert, it’s one of my all time favourite desserts ever, their peanut butter chocolate fondant with praline ice cream. It is just soooo good. I wish every time we are there and open the menu that it’s going to be on the menu. Jamie and I can’t stop making noises when eating it because it’s that good. I can’t tell you enough how much we love this place, so little, intimate, the service is spot on and the food is out of this world.

Unfortunately my poor stomach that almost never ever eats dairy or fish these days gets an absolute shock when I go crazy and eat out so today it is bloated, sore and gurgly but that’s life sometimes. I’ll just get back to my normal eating habits again today and it will all be fine! We need to indulge a little every now and again because it’s part of life. I’m back on the plant-based food today so hopefully my stomach will be happy again later on. I feel better already having exercised and had two of my normal meals.

Tonight I’m going over to Faye and Ross’s. I’m making a chilli to take with me and we’re going to have dinner together. Unfortunately Jamie is working tonight so he’ll be missing out!

Speak soon my dears, M xxx
