I thought I would start off this Monday with a tempting picture of a brunch Jamie and I got to enjoy a couple of weeks ago! Brunch is not just for the weekends and there’s something nice about being able to go out for a nice lunch/brunch midweek when everyone else is working. It’s a bit less stressful and less people about making a super nice and relaxing treat.
Comet Pieces is a newbie on Queen Magaret Drive. Once again social media played a part in me finding out about them opening, as with most cool little brunch places here in Glasgow and we thought why not get out of our Singl-end comfort zone (I can’t tell you how many times we’ve been there) and head to Comet Pieces and give it a try.
We were lucky because we’d just missed the mad rush they said when we came in and got a table straight away. To my delight they had a very similar vegan option to my Singl-end vegan breakfast I always get! So I went for that and asked for extra food because I was starving at this point. The food was lovely. Jamie loved his dish as well and it was extremely affordable. The only thing was it was all a bit small and Jamie and I have massive appetites so we said it would’ve been nicer to pay a bit more and get more food.
Nice to have a new place opening up in the West End of Glasgow. It seems like all the new brunch and coffee places are opening up in the Southside these days and us West End people are getting a bit neglected!
Yesterday evening Jamie and I had a little date night. We first went to the cinema to see the new Lara Croft film with Alicia Vikander. I don’t really tend to like action films that much (I get really stressed! Does anyone else get stressed form watching intense films?) and I had’t even seen the classic Angelina Jolie Lara Crofts but Alicia is one of my biggest woman crushes ever. I think she’s absolutely beautiful, sophisticated, graceful, fun and just amazing. It’s so cool that she’s Swedish! Both Jamie and I thought the film was good. It’s not the best film we’d ever seen but it was good.
Alicia was so badass in it! I couldn’t stop admiring how fit and strong she looked in it! I’ve read she did a lot of training for the role and put on several kilos of muscle. It was incredible to see a woman in such a cool action film doing loads of physically challenging scenes. It made me feel super inspired. We need even more women like that on screen I think!
The sun has decided come out today which is a very lovely treat! I got up just before six to go to the early morning gym class. I do feel better training in the morning instead of the evening so it was nice get in and get my sweat on. A slightly less intense EMOM today compared to last Monday’s one! Afterwards I went for a little stroll with Stella and Kilo before heading home for breakfast. Breakfast always tastes better after workout I think when you’ve worked up a proper hunger. I can’t train without something in my stomach so I usually get banana with some peanut butter on before class and then have porridge when I come back.
