Walking in Melbourne

The best matcha latte I’ve had in Melbourne so far!

How beautiful are all these autumn colours?

Last Friday was a beautifully sunny and warm day here in Melbourne. I knew I wanted to make the most of the beautiful weather and hopped onto a train into the city. Nicola suggested that I would walk along the river and I thought it sounded like the perfect afternoon outing.

But before I headed that way I really wanted to get a matcha latte and that was easier said than done, you know when you’re not looking for something you see it everywhere but when you are you can’t find it? That was me, there was no matcha lattes to be seen (The desperation got real! Oh god, I sound like such a tea snob…) until I came across Bond Street Kitchen. Their matcha with almond milk was really good. Almost as good as having it with Oatly but not quite! Nope I’m not quite over the lack of Oatly here in Australia, maybe I’ll get over it one day, maybe I won’t. It’s a tough loss but I’m dealing with a bit better each day…

I then walked along the river listening to podcasts and enjoying the warmth from the sun. I couldn’t believe how warm it was even though it’s soon winter. It was beautiful walking along the water with views over the city. The skies were bright blue and there was not a cloud to be seen. I probably shouldn’t have worn my new black faux fur jacket… It got a bit too warm but I’m not one to complain about warm weather. It was amazing.

I know you are probably dying in anticipation right now to hear about whether I managed to sort out my Medicare stuff or not. After 1.5 hours of waiting there, luckily I had my book with me! I’m now happy to say that yesterday’s mission was a success. I’m now signed up for Medicare and it was so easy once you got to speak to one of the staff members. I literally was with her for ten minutes.

I made the massive mistake of not having lunch before all of this so I was STARVING by the time I was done. I had a smoothie before I left when I got back to the gym. Luckily I had a Blue Dinosaur bar in my bag (hehe, I’ve lost track how many of those I’ve by eaten now) but it’s not exactly lunch is it? By the time I actually got lunch was 4pm, 4pm! I was dying, all the cafés I’d been researching whilst I was sitting there were closed so I ended going into a random place and getting a poke bowl. It was good, not as good as Hawaii Poke in Stockholm but it did the job and the hunger crisis was over.

No gym this morning because the guys at the gym tend to meet up in the evenings on Fridays to train so I thought I would join them then. There’s some extra programming stuff that still needs to be worked through so I think we’re doing that. Before then I’m meeting up with a friend and walking his dog. I think we’re going to the beach. So excited, you guys know how much I love dogs and the beach, what else could you need?

Have a great day my dears, M xxx
