Hi lovelies! Happy Tuesday! There was a post, which I’m still working on, which should’ve been up yesterday but I don’t feel like it’s exactly how I’d like it to be yet so I’m going to hold off on it and have another read today to make sure it’s as good as possible. It’s quite a personal one and really long! I had to cut it down into two posts because it was over 2000 words and I don’t think anyone has the time to read 2000 words just like that. If only essays at uni would’ve been as easy to smash out! So that is why anyway there wasn’t a post yesterday.
It’s been a bank holiday or public holiday as they call it here this weekend so it kind of feels like Monday today even though it’s Tuesday because everyone has been off. On Sunday night Nicola had booked for us to go and see the new play Puffs in St Kilda. It’s an alternative story from the world of Harry Potter about an Aussie guy who went to Hogwarts during the same years as Harry but did not have quite as a successful couple of years, a bit more bad luck and always in the shadow of Harry’s accomplishments. It was really funny but I think you probably need to be quite clued up on Harry Potter to understand all the jokes they were making. At times it got a bit cringey but overall I really enjoyed it and was so happy we went. I haven’t been to a play for years, musicals are more what I tend to gravitate towards but it was really fun. They had gone all out with the decorations, even in the foyer so the minute you stepped in you entered the world of Harry Potter. I loved it.
After dinner Nicola had booked a table at a Japanese restaurant nearby called Ichi Ni. I loved the vibe in there and the food was delicious. There’s a choice between ordering loads of smaller dishes or a bigger main and we went for the smaller sharing options. They looked a lot more tasty! Everything was absolutely lovely, I abandoned my plant-based ways and had some sushi… It was lobster and salmon in it and I just couldn’t resist. It was lovely. Once in a while I just really want some seafood and fish. I don’t want to live to regret missing out on things, I don’t like restriction for the sake of restriction. We order in a lovely tofu dish, mushroom dish, gyoza and some other things I can’t remember right now!
It was such a lovely night out with Nicola. Not to mention the beautiful sunset we witnessed walking to the theatre along the beach. It was one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen. The sun was red at one point and it disappeared so quickly! I barely had time to get my phone up to get a photo!
Now time to get dressed and head to the gym. Then I’ve got an appointment at the opticians this afternoon. I need to get new contacts. It would be preferable to be able to see when I run out of my stash I brought with me from Scotland.
Have a lovely day, M xxx
