New day, new house

Hello from Brighton! Wow it was a busy day yesterday! Mich and I went to the 9am class at the gym and the workout was so much fun! We did lots of heavy front squats and squat cleans and then a killer higher intensity workout to finish. I managed to go RX through the entire workout and finished in a decent time as well. The workout finished with 10 quite heavy front squats and I wasn’t sure I would be able to do them unbroken after the legs had been killed on the rower, assault bike, thrusters and wall balls. When I got to five I thought I was going to drop the bar but then I heard Mich, Jade and Soph’s supportive cheers and pushed through all ten squats. I was so happy with that. Thanks girls!

Mich so kindly gave me a lift to Perry’s family’s house in the afternoon and Perry’s parents walked me through everything I needed to know before they headed off to the airport with his sister. They seemed so excited! I don’t blame them, Europe this time of year is amazing! I was really happy to see Taylor again. She gave me the warmest welcome and has pretty much been by my side since I got here. I love that dog! She seems to be okay. I know from my dog Micro, he was always quite stressed when the suitcases were out as he knew that it meant we were going away, that dogs know what is going on and you’re going away. Taylor seemed a little bit sad at first but she quickly bounced back and came up to me for hugs. I’m more than happy to give her them!

The rest of my evening was pretty chilled. I took Taylor for a walk after having given her dinner and then I started cooking my dinner once I got back to the house. It was super simple. I roasted cauliflower, broccoli, onion and garlic in the oven and on a separate tray I roasted sweet potato seasoned with cumin, cinnamon and Himalayan pink salt. I then sautéed mushrooms in a pan and green beans. Of course you need some kind of dip so I made a guacamole. Haha yup slightly random all of it but it tasted good and did the job!

I started watching Queer Eye on Netflix after hearing loads about it. Mich mentioned it the other day too and I thought I had to give it a watch and it is really cute! Very fun and uplifting. I’m all about series that are easy to watch. I can’t always watch intense shows I need follow every second of in order to know what’s going on so Queer Eye is perfect to have on.

The plan for today is to get a bit more settled in, unpack some of my clothes, go grocery shopping and of course take Taylor out for some walks. I was tempted to go to track but with my cough still being the way it is and it being quite chilly outside I don’t think that is the best combination at the moment so I’m being good and resting today. It’s a shame because it looks like it’s going to be great weather for the session! Hopefully I’ll be fully recovered soon and can join in next Sunday.

Time to get this day started! M xxx
