A rest day of not much rest

Couldn’t stay away from the kids for too long!

Cleo taught me how to kick the ball for Aus kick!

Sorry, you’re probably getting sick of photos of sunsets…

… but here’s another one hehe

Never alone with this girl around

Hi my dears! I knew I had jinxed myself when I posted a picture on Insta story saying I’m back to blogging every day. I try but yet again I find myself trying find a new routine juggling dogs, job applying, gym going and socialising. So much going on, which is fun but also a challenge when I should be writing stuff on here as well. All I can do is try my best but some days I just can’t make it happen and I’m really sorry about this! I’m sure in a couple of days time I will have found a new routine and I’ll be able to squeeze everything in. Thank you for being so patient with me. It didn’t help that I was falling asleep as I was typing this last night and had to give up on the idea of getting anything up last night. I couldn’t keep my eyes open!

Sunday was meant to be a rest day from training but somehow I ended up being so tired in the evening I fell asleep on the sofa around eight (I’m starting to see a pattern here haha). It was a busy day from start to finish. I had an early start, as soon as I woke up Taylor was by my side wagging her tail wanting breakfast. Then I took her out for a little toilet break before I made myself breakfast. The remainder of the morning I spent getting unpacked and doing laundry. It was nice to be able to throw some washes on and get some training gear clean to be used for the gym the following week. Okay, there were some normal clothes being washed too but mainly gym gear really hehe. Story of my life.

I also did something I hadn’t done in a while! I planned a massive grocery shop. I planned meals for a  days in advance. That just never happens. I’m terrible at planning food ahead but with it being quite busy this week and the shops being further away I knew I needed to be prepared and organised if any meals were going to happen. After taking Taylor out for a longer walk midday I headed down to the main street here in Brighton to pick everything up. It was one of the biggest shops I’d done for a long time and I felt like a proper adult for once being so organised hehe. In Sweden you talk about “Vuxenpoäng”, which means adult points. Basically when you do something mature or grownup you get adult points. I felt like I got a few of them then!

The next challenge was carrying it all home. In the sun it got veeery warm! It’s in situations like this in everyday life I’m so happy I go to the gym because carrying groceries can be heavy really heavy! It makes life a bit easier. It was heavy but was manageable. I considered getting an Uber back but Stubborn Maddie came out and decided to walk back. I also managed to take a slight detour on the way back, you know just to keep it interesting and who wouldn’t want to walk carrying heavy groceries for a bit longer than needed because going the fastest way home isn’t enough?

I was back at the house for a little while and just managed to unpack everything when Nicola messaged saying they were going to the park with the kids. We had sort of been speaking about meeting up and I have missed those guys so I was so happy to get a chance to see them! We were there for about an hour and it was so much fun seeing those smiley faces.

Cleo was teaching me how to kick the ball for Aus Kick (it’s played with a similar ball to rugby). She took it very seriously and it’s incredible how much kids remember! She’s been going to Aus Kick for a couple of weeks now and the things she had remembered from her coach’s coaching was amazing! I learnt a lot from her. We played outside until the sun had set and it got considerably cooler. There were so many families out and I love that it is so common to be out and active as much as possible here. I see parents jogging with their kids, kicking footballs, playing basketball… It’s just part of life here in Australia and really how it should be!

In the evening I was knackered after a very hectic day! I forced myself to be up until ten otherwise I was worried I’d wake up at four. Then I crashed in bed. So yes, perhaps not the rest day I had in mind, sometimes everyday life can be a workout itself haha. Carrying heavy groceries, out walking all day.

I need to get going with the day but speak soon! M xxx
