Acai bowls to round off a good day
A definite highlight during my Bondi stay was walking the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk. Everyone who I spoke to before going away was telling me I had to do it so it was only right I made it happen. I’m glad I did because it was stunning and highlight of my trip. Christian and Sam joined me on this little adventure and they sure made it into more of an adventure than I had first anticipated. We would be walking along the path and all of a sudden they would decide to run off and start climbing cliffs randomly. Very fun haha.
The coastal walk is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen, passing a variety of beaches and a massive graveyard amongst other things. We stopped to have a couple of swims along the way to cool off. My favourite out of all the beaches we passed was Tamarama Beach. This was one of the beaches we had a swim at. We weren’t in for very long because the waves were so big and strong I thought we’d be pulled out to sea. It was quite intense.
On the way back we stopped at the rock pools in Mackenzies Bay, another highlight of the walk. The pools were a beautiful turquoise and gave us a bit of shelter from the massive waves that were coming in.
We were gone for a large portion of the day walking to Coogee and back but time flew by, it never got boring. I’m glad I had Sam and Christian’s company, walking it alone wouldn’t have been the same.
I love doing active things like these, mixing it up from lying down on the beach (as much as I love doing that). A great way to get some movement in your day whilst being out in the sun and exploring.
We rounded off a great trip with acai bowls back in Bondi. So satisfyingly cooling and refreshing after a long hot walk.
